A crafted workplace pension plan for employers.

The Act, cited as the Private Sector Pensions Act 2019 came into effect on the 4th of August 2021. The Act introduces the requirement for all private sector employers to establish and maintain a pension plan for its employees.

The Act sets a timeline for implementation depending on the size of the business. This can be summarised as follows:

• An ‘enterprise employer’ (which employs 251 or more persons) must be have adopted the Act on or before 1st August 2021.

• A ‘large employer’ (which employs between 101 and 250 (inclusive) persons) must adopt on or before 1st July 2022.

• A ‘medium employer’ (which employs between 51 and 100 (inclusive) persons) must adopt on or before 1st July 2025.

• A ‘small’ employer (which employs between 15 and 50 (inclusive) persons must adopt on or before 1st July 2026.

• A ‘micro’ employer (which employs 14 or less (inclusive) persons) must adopt on or before 1st July 2027.
